Abed Rahmani was born in Tehran in 1972. A graduate of the University of Tehran's Department of History, he is the director of the Farsi Book Center in Sydney, Australia. His research interests include modern Persian poetry, cultural history of Iran, and cultural heritage, particularly the Islamic cultural heritage of Iran. He is also an accomplished translator into English
His translations include works by Mahmoud Vaezi, Abdolhosein Zarrintan, Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, and Abolhasan Asgari. He has published articles on modern Persian poetry in several languages.
